Apologies for not writing in so many days in a row. It’s not that I haven’t wanted to or lacked things to share—I’ve just had so much on my plate lately, and it’s left me feeling a bit drained. I think I’m still recovering from my recent travels as well.
This week has been incredibly busy. Both work and free time have been filled with activities demanding my attention. Many people started their vacations today, which meant a rush to wrap up tasks beforehand. While that created some extra work for me, the upside is that Monday will be super quiet for those of us still working!
Of course, I’ve been keeping up with my training (though I’m still recovering from the Christmas Half Marathon!). Wednesday’s session was particularly fun—our running club held a Santa Hat Run! Afterward, we gathered in the local stadium’s kitchen for some glögi and gingerbread. It was such a cozy and cheerful way to warm up after being outside for so long.
Speaking of gingerbread, I baked some! It’s a tradition I love, even though it’s so time-consuming that some years I skip it. This time, though, I went all out—maybe too far. I made way more than I needed, as usual. Half went to my workplace (where they disappeared in a day), and I brought some to my neighbor as well. Yet I still have leftovers! You’d think I’d learn to scale back by now… but probably not.
Here is my gingerbread batch—way more than expected! Also some beautiful decorations in my hometown. Enjoy!
